Googling Friday #6

Hello folks and welcome to another edition of Googling Friday. Today I want to talk about Picasa, but first as always, some Google news.

Android overtakes Windows Mobile

This is always good news when someone over takes Microsoft no matter if it is market cap (See Apple) or in this case, the Android based phones over taking WIndows based mobile units.

Google Health Update

You know I wasn't aware they had such a web app, but Google has a Health app that you can enter in and track your medical updates in. They recently announced some updates for it. I will look into this and utilize it with my new fitness plan.

Picasa Review

Today I want to talk about Picasa, for those unfamiliar, Picasa is Google's answer to Yahoo's Flickr. I use both but Picasa makes it easy to sync with my iPhoto library allowing me to basically sync my entire photo library on my desktop into the cloud. You can also just cut out iPhoto all together and use Picasa's desktop application as your photo program of choice and it will sync to the cloud. Not everything on Picasa is viewable by the public which is nice, so you can choose which photos you want to hide and which to show off. Depending on the storage plan you have with Google you can put a lot of photos up, as for me I have a 20GB plan with them which is plenty. Feel free to check out my Picasa page and let me know what you think.

Well that is going to do it for this edition of Google Friday. See you all next week for another installment of all things Google.
