Apple loosens restrictions for third party apps
Late last week Apple announced a new set of guidelines to make it easier for third party developers to have their apps approved. What this paves the way for is probably the long awaited Google Voice app. This is a positive thing for everyone I think.
Apple bringing FaceTime to Mac and Windows?
With the new iPod touch now supporting FaceTime, a new rumor from a reliable source is saying Apple may deploy FaceTime in an updated version of iChat and also is looking at getting it on Windows though no particular application on that side is known. Also of note, it appears the 2nd generation iPad will also include FaceTime. Only time will tell if this will come but Steve Jobs did say that FaceTime would be on tens of million devices so one must conclude that to make that happen, it would have to be deployed to the computer platforms as well.
Burglars Target Homes based on Facebook Status
So if you are going on vacation and you want to update your Facebook with that status, you may want to invest in some hungry German Shepherds before you leave and post that you have them at home waiting. Fifth Generation iPhone to Sport Chip Made by Qualcomm?
Last week I told you how Intel was buying Infineon to move into the mobile chipset market. Now it appears Apple may switch over to Qualcomm for the next generation iPhone. This doesn't surprise me as I think Apple is headed toward an iPhone made for Verizon with a CDMA chipset to work on their network.

Well I hope you enjoyed that video. That is going to do it for this week's Tuesday Tech Talk. I promise to have some new app reviews for Tuesday Tech Talk #62. See you next week!
