I apologize for the short Googling Friday earlier today. When your in technology there are a lot of standards and sources companies adopt into their technology. The problem I have with Google dropping H.264 is that they are such a giant when it comes to the internet that they can force standards on others hence my attack on them for abandoning their “Don’t be Evil” motto they held for so long.
I just want to be clear that I do not hate Google, I simply have a significant policy disagreement with them, much like I would have a political disagreement with my friend Lucas for example, yet we are still great friends in spite of our policy disagreements. I will still use Chrome here and there, but I believe the best way of protesting their decision is to simply use a browser that does support H.264 (Safari).
Hopefully Google will come around and decide that they can support both standards and not be so arrogant to simply disregard one. I hope this clears up some things regarding my attitude to Google. I am not ditching Gmail or Google Voice, it is just on this one issue we part ways.
