Googling Friday #17

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Googling Friday. Quite a few interesting things I want to get into today. First off, I have a bone to pick with Google so let’s lead off with that.

Google drops support for H.264 in Chrome browser (or why I no longer use Chrome)

I am very disappointed that Google is abandoning support in their browser for the open standards of H.264 video but yet seems to be embracing the more proprietary Adobe Flash (Flash needs to be flushed BTW). Google used to have a mantra of “Don’t be Evil”, they have since abandoned that. Well Google since you have decided not to support H.264 in Chrome, I will no longer support Chrome as my browser of choice and will now use Apple Safari once again with Mozilla’s Firefox beta as my preferred backup browser.

You know what, I’m sorry but I don’t feel like writing anymore about Google this week. See you next week.
