Google Review: Google Places
Google has released an app for the iPhone called Google Places, it has been on Android for a while since that is their OS. What it does is determine your location via pinging nearby cell towers and then allows you to find nearby restaurants, coffee houses, bars, gas stations, ATM’s,etc. Upon my use of it I have found it is not precisely up to date, for example Joe Joe’s still has the old address in their app, but it does list reviews from both Yelp and Google for the place to select.
So it is a handy little app and will remind a lot of people of the Yelp app for the iPhone, but it draws on Google’s vast search and location network which is a plus. So go check it out!
Well, that is going to do it for this edition of Googling Friday. See you all next week for another installment...unless of course they make me mad (just kidding).
